Railway photo gallery

Hi!

I want to talk You something about my dad’s photo gallery. Of course it is only internet gallery.

First, come back to the history. In 1991 my dad and my uncle went at the river, next to the railway bridge in Suwałki. It was winter, a few days after my born, so they are a little drunk (…). They are talking about photography, because my uncle was semi-professional photographer. Instead my dad was talking about trains crossing the river. He liked trains, because his father (my grandfather) was train driver, it is something like “family background”. Adding three elements: photography, trains and of course a bit of alcohol, born idea of “railway photography”. They was at the river, but my uncle, fanatic photographer, always has at least one camera in his bag. He gave to my dad an old, soviet camera… ZENITH and said to him: “ok, go. Let’s start taking trains photos”.

In 2005, after digital revolution, my dad bought first digital camera. Firstly he complain, that “digital picture never emulate real analog camera photo”. After few years, he understood, that digital photo and internet are a great chance to promote railway photography.

A few months ago he opened his own gallery www.stalowekadry.pl. In the internet are a lot of different galleries about railway, but my dad want to promote his own style. It’s not only simple “take trains photos”. It is something like art, combine landscapes of his homeland, impressions and trains theme –family passion.

Of course not only my dad upload photos. There are a few other users, for example me ;). There are two exemplary photos, first is take by my dad, second is mine.

I invite You to visit www.stalowekadry.pl. You can look at the photos without registration ;).
