MOSZNA

Moszna – a small village (about 350 people) in south-west Poland, approximately 40 km from Opole.

Why is so special?

Here is located one of the most beautiful castle in the region and even in Poland.

The history of the building is really long…

Here is the shorter version just to interest you:]

Everything started in 1723 when Georg Wilhelm von Reisewitz built the palace - the central part of today's castle - in baroque style.

Unfortunately part of the palace burnt in 1896. The palace, in the years 1771-1866 passed from hand to hand. Finally in 1866 Hubert von Tiele-Winckler from Miechowice bought the palace.

In April 1896 part of the palace was burned in a night fire. Hubert’s son Franz directed the reconstruction and extension of the palace. In accordance with his wishes, the building had 365 rooms - how many days a year, and 99 turrets and spires.

The number of turrets was intentional - when the building has 100 or more turrets, the owner is obliged to maintain a regular army, which means the cost. To annoy the administration and the government Franz has built only 99th.

The western wing of castle( the Neorenaissance style) was built for by the German Emperor Wilhelm II, who visited Moszna twice, purpose of

visit was to hunt In “Bory Niemodlińskie” located nearby.

The eastern Neogothic-styled wing of the building was built by 1900, along with an adjacent orangery.

The castle was owned by Tiele-Winckler until 1945, when he had to flee to Germany, before the forthcoming Red Army. The Soviets have done the most damage by destroying most of the equipment.

Since 1972, there is Public Health Care Centre for Therapies of Neuroses.

But a big part of the castle is opened for the tourists.

The entire complex includes, apart from the castle itself, a big park, which connects directly to the surrounding forest, meadows and fields.

The biggest attraction, especially in late May and early June are blooming azaleas and rhododendrons, and more than 300 years old oaks and over 100-year-old eastern white pine.

The entire park is traversed by numerous canals. Inside the park on your left side is a small island - Easter Island, which can be reached through a Chinese-styled bridge.

A visible trace of the war are the traces of bullets on the monument the owner of the castle, which is located in the park.

On the other side of the castle is bordered by a horse-riding stables, where horses are bred thoroughbreds and half-blood. Stud a several times a year organizes a competition in horse jumping.

Fast recipe for dinner from Italian cuisine

Pasta with Pesto alla Genovese

If you don’t have time and energy to cook all day - here is fast and tasty method to dispose of hunger. Attention – very stodgy !

What we need ? – Ingredients :

For Pesto alla Genovese :

  • fresh basil,
  • olive oil (extra virgin),
  • Parmesan cheese (or different hard cheese finely grated),
  • clove of garlic (grated)
  • pine nuts (finely chopped)
  • cashew nuts (finely chopped)

Rest of ingredients :

  • · pasta (the best kind to this meal is tube-shaped one)
  • · chive
  • · parsley
  • · salt

Preparation :

Preparation of recipe is very simple and the only difficult you can have is properly grated bazil (this should be done manually). To make pesto grate fresh bazil using (wooden) pestle and mortar. After that, add olive oil and rest of ingredients and keep mashing them until it became homogeneous mass. Proportion of ingredients can be varied depending on our taste, although bazil is the base of this sauce, so pesto should have at least 50% of it. Prepared in that way, pesto can be kept in fridge for few days. It can be used in many meals – for example lasagna or dressing sauce.

After making pesto, boil pasta, then simply add pesto to pasta and mix it accurately. Pesto is very intense sauce and have taut consistence (pasta shouldn’t swim in it!), so you don’t need to add it much – only two or three table spoons. At the end just add chopped chive and parsley, then sprinkle all with parmesan cheese. Optional you can mix it with some splited tuna from can or vegetables. Done! Taste great with salad and juice.

CARROT CAKE

Everybody knows that the most popular cake in US is Carrot Cake, there are so many recipes in the Internet but which one is the original one or which taste the best? I was looking for a good recipe almost half year I tried about 5 different cakes and found one which in my opinion taste really good.

Ingredients:
  • 250 g unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 375 g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla sugar
  • 625 g flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 125 g nuts, chopped
  • 250 ml milk
Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

Peel and finely grate the carrots.

In bowl whisk together butter and sugar, then add eggs, carrots and vanilla

In another bowl mix dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and put it together with butter mix. Then add milk to that. Now you have to stir it really precisely. Finally, add the nuts and mix it once again.
Put the dough into springform pan (25cm).

Baking time: ca. 40 minutes It depends on the oven, so just check with
wooden skewer if it's baked.
You can sprinkle cake with icing sugar but...

If you want to have original one you should make Cheese Frosting:

Ingredients:
  • 100 g cream cheese( like Philadelphia)
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • 250 g icing sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar

First, the cream cheese with milk until smooth. Then add the vanilla sugar and finally thesifted icing sugar, stir thoroughly. The frosting on the carrot cake spread. Since thefrosting runs like it when it's warmer, place the cake with the frosting always cool.

Spaghetti with tuna.

I Would like to present my favourite dish. It was invented by my cousin, but I modifide it for my and my family tastes. I always prepare this dish when I haven’t any idea what eat for lunch. For this dish we need: about 2 carnisters with tuna, 1 carnister of tomato ( but we can also use fresh tomatoes, if we didn’t like tinned foods), 1 onion, salt, pepper, sweet basil, corn, red bean, spaghetti , cheese and bit oil.

First, we must boil spaghetti, because preparing sauce is very quick, and we can do it during the spaghetti would be boiled. When spaghetti is boiled , we can prepare sauce. First we must peel and chop onion. It's horrible for me because I always cry. But it is feasible. Onion we put on frying pan with warmed oil. For 2 minutes we must put tomatoes, and boil until the tomatoes will be overcook. Then we must only put corn and bean, boil it. At the end we must put tuna and seasonings and boil for 2 minutes. Remember : don’t boil sauce with tuna to long, because it’s unhealthy. I’m sure that spaghetti it’s good for take it to the plate. If we like, we could put it grate’s cheese, and then sauce.

SIMPLY SALAD WITH GYROS :)

Hi everyone!
I want to write you a recipe for delicious salad with gyros. My mom is making this salad very often because it's simply, quick and tasty :)

Ingredients:
- a part of chicken breast ( cut in small pieces)
- ketchup ( remember: ketchup from Pudliszki is the best :) )
- sweet corn ( of course also from Pudliszki :) )
- mayonnaise
- lettuce
- parsley to decorate

And now you need only fry the chicken on the frying pan and add some spices ( the best is spice called "Gyros"). Meanwhile you can chop the lettuce and parsley. When the chicken is ready, take a nice glass bowl and throw the meat in it. Than you need to make layers from oder ingredients. So on chicken comes ketchup ( not too much!), than sweet corn, mayonnaise (also not too much), chopped lettuce and in the end a bit parsley to decoration! And... that's all! :) You should get a colorful salad :) You can also add other vegetables if you want :)
Bon Appetit!! :)

P.S. I haven't got photos because I've already eaten the whole portion :) I add them later :)
If you also make similar salad and use other ingredients, write it down- maybe I also try to add something new to my salad :)
