Computer in phone?

Computer in phone? Is this possible? From now on - yes! Samsung has recently presented a new bauble - Samsung Galaxy S II. It is incredible turn in community industry. This very thin (8,49mm) phone is working on Android 2.3 system and it has dual-core processor - a few years ago it wouldn't be possible. It integrates many features to guarantee permanent access to music, games, books, magazines and social networks. Users can also use the camera with a high-resolution 8 megapixels and record videos in full 1080p HD. Samsung Galaxy S II is equipped with an AMOLED screen Super Plus 4.27-inch diagonal. RealStripe technology and significantly increased the number of sub-pixels, the screen appears a lot more detail, and the projected image looks more sharply. Galaxy S II could become a personal jukebox, offering access to 12 million tracks supplied by 7digital. Galaxy S II provides users with many opportunities for personalization. Available to them first of all Live Panel - a service that aggregates content from various websites and applications in one window. Users can decide the type and source of the displayed content. I could write about this little marvel much more but I think it is enough to love it and get one of them. But there is one snag - price which oscillates from 1500 PLN and more.

Oleśnica - City of towers and roses

As topic says, Oleśnica is defined as city of towers and roses (if I must be honest, I do not know why it is called city of roses but I have no doubts why it is called city of towers - there are many of them in whole Oleśnica). It is town with very rich history. It is one of the oldest and most interesting cities in Lower Silesia. First informations are from XIII century. Its attractiveness is the location, beautiful panorama of tall towers, accented with historic buildings and rich history of representing a combination of three traditions: Polish, Czech and German. After centuries of turbulent history, Oleśnica is back in the borders of the Polish state. Its present appearance and shape is the result of a half-century of reconstruction and development, and creative effort of its people.

Of course one of the most beautiful pl
aces is market - along with the town hall and surrounding houses, is still the center of the city. It is very well maintained and clean. There are many pubs and restaurants where you can spent your free time with friends or family.

Oleśnica is full of monuments and relic elements. There is duke's castle - renaissance, the largest and most valuable monument in Oleśnica (picture below).

There are also plenty of churches which are also great monuments but all these relic elements aren't the most thing for me. I have been in Oleśnica couple of times and I must say that I really liked this place. It's perfectly cultivated, clean and intriguing. Atmosphere is fantastic, I can also say that people are great. When it comes to buildings, I am seriously amazed by the complex of Wrocław gate and walls. When you cross one of the gates, you enter semi-hidden housing and that's amazing for me because it is perfectly ripped. All that things together makes Olśnica very attractive place for the weekend. I really enjoy spending time there!

The colorful lakes

There is one very interesting place, not so far from Wrocław, which is really worth seeing... It's called Colorful lakes and is located in Rudawy Janowickie. To see all lakes You have to go from Wieściszowice to Wielka Kopa Mountain.
The three lakes were formed after the old mine workings. Lakes aren't the biggest one, but are beautifuly placed and what is interesting, all are colored in different ways. The lowest located lake (560 m. n. p. m) is the purple one (from the sulfur and iron). Higher (635m) is the azure lake (from copper compunds) and the last one is Green Pond on 730 m.n.p.m.
The hike itself is really nice and the ability to see these colorful lakes and some small caves on your way make it even more marvellous!

Purple lake

Azure lake in Rudawy Janowickie

What's more, The Colorful Lakes have now been given a chance to become one of The 7 new wonders of Poland! The voting is still on, so you can vote for them on a website of The National Geographic magazine! Fingers crossed for the lakes:)

Curry Chicken with Bananas

This is a recipe of one of my favourite dinner and it is called shortly Curry Chicken with Bananas. It's not sophisticated, it's good and high in calories (warning for ladies who want to cut on weight - better avoid that dinner :P). All you need to do it is:

- one sachet of rice (100g)
- half of onion
- 2 bananas
- at least 100g of chicken breast
- a bit of flour
- curry spice (it depends, I like when it is full of it)

First, you have to slice chicken breast into stripes. Pour some oil into the pan and heat it. Coat chicken stripes in flour and than put on your pan. Shortly after that add sliced onion to your meat (let it fry together). When you see that your chicken is getting white, add a curry spice to it and mix (u need to add sometimes a water to get some kind of a sauce, you cant let your meat to dry). When your rice and meat is ready, put it on your plate and put onto the top sliced bananas. Hope you made it, if not - practice and get some skills, that dish is really delicious.

Mushrooms with the secret

There is a short recipe for a pretty nice and interesting dinner for stuffed mushrooms . All you need is:

  • about 0,5 kg of mushrooms (big)
  • 1-2 big onions, chopped
  • 0,3 kg of minced meat
  • 3 eggs
  • crumbs
  • few slices of cheese

This is picture of my thursday's dinner ;)
  • oil
  • salt, pepper to add taste :))

Now you need to fry meat with onion and spices, and in the meantime peel mushrooms and remove stems (you can add sliced stems to saucepan with frying meat if you don’t want them to waste). When the meat is ready fill mushrooms with it, coat it in eggs and crumbs. On the top of every mushroom put a slice of cheese.

Bake at 200 degrees for half an hour. Serve warm with potatoes or anything you want ;)

Enjoy!

P.S. And there is also one idea for the simple dessert that you probably have never tried before. But I need to warn you: it is for you only if you like really sour things.

This is my rhubarb with sugar.

You need to peel rhubarb, cut it into pieces and sprinkle with sugar :)

BEAUTIFUL PLACES ARE CLOSER THAN YOU THOUGHT

Hello. It's almost summer and holidays are coming so I wanted to write about places where you can go spend some time and not be bored.
If you think that these places are far away, you are wrong! Just look around and you will notice that there are many things to see and do in area where you live.
For example huge part of us live at the countryside (just like me ;)). I wanted to show you how interesting and beautiful a countryside can be.

There are picturesque landscapes: hills, lakes, ponds, forests where nature is unspoilt.

You can admire various plants, take bike and go sightseeing or just rest,
relax and enjoy this slow paste of life.

So if you are tired of big city life, come and spend some time at the countryside.

A SHORT HISTORY OF THE FUTURE WITHOUT PEOPLE

I've wrote two posts, but I decided to write else about a curiosity of science. I've recently looked through my old newspapers and I noticed in "Przekrój Nauki" an interesting article. It isn't nice, I can tell that it's even a little sad. Its title is: "How will be without us?". It's a history of the future without people, shown by the example of Prypeć- a deserted place, located in Ukraine, 4 km from Czarnobyl and called "a city of ghots". The article shows a big power of nature and that we are so small in a comparison between us and it.

So what's about the world without people?

10 YEARS

At the beggining, trees begin grow in streets and inside our flats. Later concrete and asphalt start crushing itself, what is an effect of the water which freezes and tears cracks. Thanks of crushing, after 4-5 years, on the Earth there is enough spoil to sprount new plants. Within 10 years, trees grow bigger and animals are braver and often go out from forests. What's interesting, a lot of breeded by people, races of dogs, for example dachshunds become extinct. Moreover, dogs are wild and start hunting in flocks. Together with people disappear also cockroaches and rats which life only thanks of our warm flats and waste of our foods.

20YEARS

We notice a slow break-up of construction made of metal, which is caused by a rust. Next the water floods tunnel, undergrounds and buildings' fundaments, what speeds up their break-up.

50 YEARS

Cities are destroyed by fires, and nature is incrementally cleaner. Power stations and factories haven't been working for a long time, so acid rains and smog disappear. Thanks of it, walls of buildings are covered by growths which speed up their break-up. Plaster and mortar fall down from walls and raise a level of soil's pH, which become ideal for fast growing of plants. In the same time, is noticed the break-up of containers with chemicals and leakages radioactive isotopes from nuclear power stations. Pollutions go to the soil and to the atmosphere and in a lot of places there are tained areas.

100 YEARS

The atmosphere become clean, the hole in the ozone layer disappears and the greenhouse effect is stopped. As the result, climat is colder. Animals and plants return to their original forms and they are really difficult to identification.

500-1 000 YEARS

All forms of the human civilisation disapper- there aren't big construction of bridges, dams and bunkers. What's more all the Earth is covered by a dense forest. Just now, die out last tracks of people- packages and bottles made of plastic, are spread.

10 000-100 000 YEARS

Finally, comes the Ice Age and ice razes from the Earth's surface all track of humans' life. It's the end of the human civilisation.

Wroclaw is one of the most beautiful cities in Poland and I'm so happy that I can study in this town. There are a lot of interesting and pleasant places to relax and unwind from the daily routine. One of those places is market. I like this space because I can relax there. I can sit on the bench, think of something nice, not only about problems and I can enjoy of the day. That's really really beautiful place. There are colorful restored houses, monuments, fountains and a funny little dwarves. What's more I love "Solny Square" because there are lots of pretty flowers and I think that this has it's own climate.

Wroclaw's market is "vibrant". There are so many people at any time of day or night and it's possible to meet someone you know. What else can I say... There are so many pubs, clubs, restaurants and discos where everyone can have a nice time.

I think that this market is a good showcase of Wroclaw.

Everyone knows how wroclaw's market looks but I would like to show You my photos of this place. Are not too fantastic, but it is not most important. ;)

CHAŁUPY WELCOME TO !

Holiday in Poland? It's thought that it isn't a great idea. A lot of people think that it's connected with a bad weather, high prices and the boredom. In my opinion, holiday in Poland may be also wonderful and full of adventures. We have got, for example interesting cities and a lot of places where you can see beauty of nature.

I'd like to describe one of my the best polish holiday destinations. It isn't too expensive, bad weather isn't there a big problem and first of all, you don't have there time to be bored.

If you like active holiday and water sports and want to have rest far from noise and rush- Chałupy it's an ideal place for you! It's a small village located in northern Poland, by the Baltic Sea and the Bay of Puck, at the beggining of the Hel Peninsula. Chałupy is known not only from Zbigniew Wodecki song and nudists' beach, but also thanks of the best weather conditions in Europe to taking up wind- and kitesurfing.

HOW CAN YOU REACH THERE?

I recommend to go by a train. From Wroclaw you have the trough train to Gdynia and there the change to Chałupy. The journey takes about 12 hours. It's long, but during this time you have a possibility to see beautiful sights, for example gold fields, morainal hills and finally amazing Bay of Puck with a plenty of wind- and kitesurfers. Thanks of going by train, you'll avoid traffic jams- in weekends you have to wait even 3 hours to drive in peninsula!

WHERE CAN YOU SLEEP?

In Chałupy there are several campsites: Chałupy I, Chałupy II, Chałupy III and so on. There you may sleep in your cottage- a day costs about 15 zł or rent a caravane for four people and pay 150 zl. Standard of campsites is better from year to year. Apart from showers, an access to the Internet and current, every campsite in Chałupy has got a surfschool, surfshop and beachbar. If you really don't like sleeping in cottage, you may stay in a private lodging which costs about 40 zł.

WHAT CAN YOU EAT?

You don't have to be afraid about food, because there are several fish-and-chip shops, where you can eat tasty fried fishes straight from morning catches.

WHAT'S ABOUT SURFING?

It is said that Chałupy is the polish Hawaii. It isn't surprising because by the Bay of Puck there are the best conditions in Europe to taking up wind- and kitesurfing- strong wind and not deep water- only about 1 m. You may learn wind- or kitesurfing in one of surfschools, for example in Funsurf. One lesson with instructor costs about 60 zł, but there are also interesting packets of lessons. After two or three lessons, you may rent equipment and swim alone. It's really wonderful sport- you' re alone only with wind and water!

More about surfing, espacially about surfcamps, you'll find here: http://www.surfcamp.pl/

WHAT'S MORE?

When you will be tired of taking up sport, you may go on the second side of peninsula, by the Baltic Sea. There you can lie on the beach and sunbathe and on evenings admire beautiful sunsets. There are also several beachbars, where you can have a great fun at the party. If you like visit, you may rent a bicycle and go along peninsula. You may also go by train to Hel or to Gdansk. To Gdansk it's only 2 hours. There you can visit a lot of interesting places and monuments. You can't forget about visit a Neptun's fountain, the Mill by the Mołtawa River and the Old Town with Dluga Street and Dlugi Targ. More about Gdansk, you'll find here: http://www.gdansk-life.com/

Don't you believe that it is in Poland? YES IT IS !

Sweet story

Hello. I know, I know, I haven’t written for so long… We have here so many informations about Wroclaw that we will probably become an experts in this theme. To keep going in this I decide to write something sweet of course about Wroclaw. On the corner of Igielna Street and Wiezienna Street is chocolate manufacture CHOCOFFEE. It’s small family company with traditions since 1927. Fame of hand-made filled chocolates is known in all Poland. Decor in restaurant refer to this brown beauty, for example you can sit down on plushy bar of chocolate. In menu you can find: chilli closed in dark chocolate, chocolate-covered strawberries or raspberries, filled chocolate with ginger, tiramisu and with… blue cheese(!) and more different positions.

My question: would you like to try chocolate with blue cheese?
